DR.
JOHN HAAS – FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR
Dr.
John Haas developed upon the concept of trans-disciplinary learning
communities while teaching world civilization and U.S. history at
Cerritos College. After the events of September 11, Dr. Haas expanded
this concept to encapsulate the world by creating global learning
communities through the Global Consortium.
Dr.
Haas has been invited to share his vision of global education with
educators around the world and throughout the United States and was
recently chosen as 1 of 425 global educators world-wide to present his
work with the GC.
Dr.
Haas was recently recognized by the United States Congress for his work
on global peace and understanding. This prestigious accolade is a
testament to his dedication to education and the Global Consortium’s
revolutionary program. Additionally, He spoke to the UN on the 15th
Anniversary of the “Revocation of Zionsim as Racism Resolution.”
Dr.
Haas was the recipient of the “Most Outstanding Faculty Award” for
2006-07.
Dr.
Haas is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, attended
Exeter College at Oxford University and received his Ph.D. in History
from the Claremont Graduate School (now the Claremont Graduate
University). Currently the history department chair at Cerritos College,
Dr. Haas teaches World, British and U.S. history courses and has taught
a graduate course at the Claremont Graduate University.
